Information Amorgos
Amorgos is the most eastern island from the group of islands of Cyclades. Simultaneously, it is also the most near island in the Dodekanisa. The film "Big Blue" has scenes from the beautiful island of Amorgos that everyone has to visit
Katapola: Main port of Amorgos
Katapola is the main port of island, one of the most important natural ports of Cyclades. It consists of three neighborhoods built on the surrounding hills. Rahidi at the top of the port, Xylokeratidi in the northern part and the Katapola in the centre. Our taverna is at the centre of Katapola with great view in the port of Katapola.
The Ag. Panteleimonas at the left part of port is a sandy, beautiful beach. From Katapola you can take a boat for visiting the beaches Maltezi and Plakes.
The center city of island "Chora" is located 6km from the Katapola in the mountainous part of island. In altitude of 300 metres, is one from the more beautiful and more graphic cities of Cyclades. It's main characteristics are the white houses and narrow alleys.
Chora: The center of Amorgos
Following the path beginning from Chora to the eastern side of island just few kilimeters away, we find the unique for its architecture monastery of Chozoviotissa which is built in eastern scarp of island that leads in deep blue, vast Aegean sea. The monastery of Chozoviotissa has history of almost one hundred years and it is one from the most famous monasteries of Greece.

The beauty of landscape is difficult to be described cause the combination of mountain and the sea is unique. Near to monastery, the beach of Saint Anna is one of the best of the island.
The path from Chora to the northern part of the island directs to Ag. Paylos. From Ag. Paylos you can pass by boat to the islet of Nikouria where you will enjoy swimming in two splendid beaches. Few kilometres to north you meet the Aigiali bay, the second port of island. There you can find the sandy beach of Aigiali and a graphic village with white and blue houses. Aigiali is surrounded by two villages built higher up, Lagada and Tholaria. Lagada is a verdurous village only 2,5 kilometres from Aigiali with unique view of sunset.

In southern part of the island you find the Arkesini village where is located the castle of homonymy ancient city. Near to Arkesini you can enjoy the beaches of Kalotaritissa and Mourou.
From Kalotaritissa bay you can visit by boat the small isle Gramboussa where you can swim in one of the most beautiful beaches of Amorgos. Spotless waters, sandy beach, a really dreamlike islet you have to visit.
